Golden Oldies

The current challenge at A Blog Named Hero caused me to dig into my stash of old Hero Arts stamps. I found these stamps from the 2005 "ribbon" series (F3340, F3341 & F3343)! How's that for oldies? I stamped them, overlapping, with Hero Arts Mid-Tone and Shadow Inks. Kind of like old-fashioned washi tape, eh?

A couple other old favorite stamps used here are CL242 (the robot) from 2008 and CL400 (the elephant) from 2010. I used them with some Martha Stewart papers, some Nestibilities dies, Copic pens and some Stickles to complete these Valentines. Here's a couple of shots of the robot. I love the results!

This was a fun challenge. I regularly purge my stamps, but there are some that I will always keep because I love them so much! Hope you can play along and enjoy some old "friends".

Have a great day - it's National Pie
Day in the USA!- and thanks for stopping in!

From Silly to Serene

The card front is a piece of Asian stationary that I found in a clearance bin years ago. See the cool mark in the lower left corner? The little Hero Arts doll is carefully colored with Copic pens (I'm still having trouble getting the photos to not look blotchy) and the mat is cut and dry embossed with Nestibilities dies. Some pearls for elegance and, of course, I had to add a bit of sparkle. This is going out to a special birthday girl. Thanks for looking!

Hippo Ray!

Here's a birthday card I made for him using an adorable Feltie guy from Sassafras Lass that I got from my pal Patti at Paper Maniac (a great place for paper crafting supplies, by the way - check it out!). The inside of the card reads "Hip Hippo Ray!" This is a simple card, layered with Nestie shapes.

I placed the outline sticker on a supper-sticky sheet of tape (Be Creative Tape Sheet) and then liberally applied super-fine white glitter, rubbing it on. Then I painted the image with glaze pens (just adding small drops of color) and an aqua painter (notice the lovely shading?).

This is super fun, and you get to wear glitter on your face for a couple of days! The stamp, which goes just perfectly with this image, is by Cornish Heritage Farms, paper by Heidi Swapp, and shapes by Nesties in my Cuttlebug. I finished it all off with Copics color, a vintage button, embroidery thread, a Prima flower, a rhinestone, and some sheer ribbon.

Today's card is another featuring a cute Hero Arts Stamp. Isn't she adorable? I colored her up with Copics and used a new Nestie die for the background shape. The card background is a piece of delicate rice paper stationary I found when a local stationary store was going out of business. Can you see the stamp in the lower left corner? I added a little final class with some pearls and little flowers. I think this gal has personality! Thanks for looking!

What's Cooking?

For those of you who know me, it ain't much! Even though I'm not much of a cook, I love to collect vintage cookbooks. I found a cute way to incorporate pix from one of my cookbooks into a card. These Hero Arts stamps are just perfect. I paper pieced the chef's hat and spoon and layered them for dimension. And every chef needs googly eyes! I embossed the sweet little pot holder to resemble stitching and used my Nesties to cut out the cookbook and related designer paper.

Love this little chef......wonder if he is busy for Thanksgiving?
