Birds of a Feather

Happy Sunday, Bloggin' Buddies!

A quick post this morning to share another of the set of kraft bird-themed cards I am making for my bird-watching friend. For this one I again used an older Hero Arts stamp (H5110, Thank You Card). It has been fun to ink up some of these older stamps for this set - kind of like visiting old friends! Several layers, paper piecing, dimensional and MME "The Sweetest Thing - Bluebell" 6x6 paper are all used here.

I plan to join the multitudes and submit this for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, "Anything Goes". That is always super-popular.

We are off to our favorite Zumba class this morning! Have a great day and thanks for the visit.,

Stretch Your Dies - Day Two

Or, in this case, scream and cuss at your dies!

Yep, I'm back at the Online Card Class series. Those gals make it look so darn easy! I almost didn't post this, but I figured that classes are all about learning, and mistakes are sure a part of learning.

I have learned that it makes a HUGE difference which dies you select for this technique, which Kristina calls "Die Cuts Within A Larger Die".

My butterflies were just too delicate and the shapes too large. They just look strange cut off into a circle shape.

I wish I'd kept the butterflies at their full sizes, but that wasn't the technique, now was it? Ah, well. The technique is a good one, my execution just leaves much to be desired.

Thanks for the visit,

Stretch Your Dies - Day One

Hello, my friends!

A quick post today showing my homework for Day One of Stretch Your Dies, the great online card class. Today's lesson involves word dies. Yes, I am a little tardy with this homework, but life happens.

Debbie Huges shared a spin on inlaying word dies and I gave it a whirl. I used Lawn Fawn's "Scripty Thanks" and papers from My Minds Eye "In Bloom".

This is more tricky than it appears - I need some additional practice! Thanks Debby, and thanks to Jennifer and Kristina for the great class series.

Thanks for the visit!

Dang!

Hello, dear bloggin' buddies!

I needed a cowboy card and I have no stamps with any kind of western theme (no surprise, eh?). So I got online and found this adorable digi cowboy at Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps. Pretty dern cute, eh?

I colored him up with Copics, framed him with the stitched rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp and mounted him on a piece from a new My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad that is full of all kinds of wood patterns (got at Michael's with a coupon). The sentiment is computer generated and the brads are from my stash - yes, I still have brads!

I even found some better light for photographing!

See ya'll 'round and thanks for the visit!

Home Again!

After a couple of wonderful weeks visiting with my family and then several days at our place in the Napa Valley we are settling back into our "normal" routines.

I hope to visit all of your blogs and the Hero Arts Flickr page very soon to catch up on all of the wonderful creations I have missed!

A quick post today to share a Mother's Day card I made for my dear Aunt using My Mind's Eye "the sweetest day" collection of 6" x 6" papers and coordinating enamel dots (love them!).

Stamps are Hero Arts CL596 and CL498. I was inspired by this lovely card made by the super-talented Lin.

Travels are fun, but we are happy to be home again. See you very soon and have a great week.
