Spring Tags

Hi, Bloggin' Buddies!

It sure feels like Spring and Easter is here. I have been playing with an adorable new set by Neat and Tangled in conjunction with Simon Says Stamp. It is called "Cute Chicks".

The amazing blogger Emily Leiphart from Art From the the Heart did a wonderful video on masking these little guys to form the perfect parade. Check it out.

I colored the sweet images with my Copic markers, masked with Inkadinkado stamping masking paper and used some sequins from my stash.

I decided to avoid bunnies this year, so I have used this set and some florals for my Easter cards.

Hope you have a great week - keep springing! Thanks for the visit,

Smile

Hello, Bloggin' Buddies!

I sure hope you have had a great weekend. We sure did - it feels like Spring, but we continue to pray for rain.

Today I am sharing a fun little card that incorporates products from several companies. The sentiment is from a fun set by Inkadinkado called "Kid Quotes, Friendly Advice". These just make me chuckle. The crazy rabbit is from paper Smooches "A Little Lovin" and the matching dies. Finally, the vellum circles, called "Circle Scribbles" are from Papertrey Ink.

These are all mounted on a background that is water-colored with Distress Inks (but I just got a new set of great water colors - can't wait to try them).

Thanks for the visit and have a wonderful week.

A Moxie Fab Smile

Hello, friends!

I hope you are having a great weekend. I decided to put together a camera card for the current Moxie Fab World Clicking Cameras Challenge.

I have always loved cameras and I did quite a bit of photography in college with many hours in the darkroom.

For this card I tried a technique that Jennifer McGuire demonstrated on her blog. I went kind of psychedelic using stamps from the Tim Holtz Travel Blueprints set from Stampers Anonymous and Inkadinkado's Camera set.

I made several layers, all of which glimmer with Perfect Pearls mist.

Thanks for the visit. Keep smilin'!

Parade of Stars

One more star-spangled card before the big holiday! This one was made with my wonderful friend and teacher, Bibiana. She is such a special lady.

Hero Arts "It's A Parade" (G5469) is used with a technique called "Shadow Effect". I found this link with details on this heat-embossing technique, if you are interested. I love the vintage effect!

The other stamps here are Inkadinkako's "Flag Map" and Penny Black's "Damask" (for the tone-on-tone background).

This is for Lily Pond Cards SSS Challenge, the current Simon Says Stamp Patriotic Challenge, and I found a new place for fun challenges, called "Shopping Our Stash" - don't ya just love it? - or, SOS. Their current challenge is for red, white and blue or stars and stripes.

Thanks for checking in and wishing my fellow Americans a Grand and Glorious holiday!

Wine-ing!

One of the current challenges over at Moxie Fab World is about using household items on our cards. Is a wine bottle cork a "household item"? In our house it sure is! I've decorated picture frames and made trivets, wreaths and Christmas ornaments with them - why not use them on cards?

I didn't fill a glass, but I sliced up some corks and had some fun. What great texture! I used watercolor pencils on watercolor paper with Inkadinkado's #97121. Even the butterfly bodies are pieces of cork.

I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp current challenge, "Anything Goes".

I see that I am going to need plenty of these corks in the future - ha! Thanks for looking and craft responsibly! have a great week.
