Chalky Fingers

As you know, I am always last to try out a new trend. The JustRite stamp (Autumn Labels Twenty-two) that I used in my last post just seemed to cry out for the hot "chalkboard technique", so I gave it a try. It sure results in an entirely different look. I used Tim's Holtz's version of using actual chalk to distress the background.

That's a Lawn Fawn die cut pumpkin. Other supplies are from my extensive stash.

Have a wonderful weekend! We have had lots of much-needed rain, but there promises to be sunshine ahead.

Take good care and thanks for the visit!

Count Your Blessings

Happy Monday, dear friends!

A quick post today to share another card that I made with the JustRite Autumn stamp set that coordinates with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-two. This has an entirely different look.

I added a sentiment from an old Crafty Secrets set which was stamped on a Hero Arts Frame Cuts tag. Dressed it up with some burlap, ribbon and a vintage button from my stash. These were pretty quick to make, so I made a few. I never have enough Thanksgiving cards! This is going into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog challenge.

The weather here is finally changing and there is rain on the way - Yay! So sorry about all the devastation the weather recently caused in the the country and the world - my thoughts and prayers are with you who are affected.

Have a good week!

Giving Thanks

I was just delighted when I learned that some JustRite Stamps coordinate with Spellbinders dies. For this card I used the "Autumn Labels Twenty-two" stamp set. It goes with the Labels Twenty-two Spellbinders Dies. Cool?

I wish you could see the layering - the dies make it so easy. It was fun to color, too.  This will be going in the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Thanks/Thanksgiving". So, for all my pals who are well on their way with Christmas cards, it is going to be awhile for me........

Have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas!

One last post before I wrap up the year. This is a card I made with a dear Penny Black stamp called "Winter Swing". What fun to color! I am not real big on stamps of cute kids, but there is something extra dear about this sweetie.

The ornament is a JustRite stamp, embossed in gold, cut with a matching Spellbinders die. I also used some of my new Studio Calico wood stars - I'm crazy over them!

Thank you all for your wonderful visits, your sweet encouragement, your smiles and all of your amazing inspiration throughout the year. I am so touched to have so many real friends right here! There is always someone ready to offer just what I need. It has been amazing year. I hope to see you all next year and maybe even meet some of you in person.

I am entering this is in the current Simon Says Stamp (I just received an order in today's mail = excited! Simon Says Santa!) challenge, Merry Christmas. You still have time (if you have time) to play along.

Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year! I'll see you in 2013!

Bringing It Back

with Bling!

I had made this card last week for the Holiday Card Workshop, but it just didn't tickle my fancy.

So, I made another one - inspired by the current Hero Arts Contest "Bring on the Bling!"

Me likey this WAY better!

I am off to a card class this morning taught by my dear friend and teacher, Bibianna. You can catch her over at the Memory Box Blog. She is super-talented and a real doll. Can't wait.

Holiday Card Workshop - Day 7

I had to take a couple of days off from class to make my 25 Thanksgiving cards (which I will share later) and catch up a little with life.

I have just completed my Day 7 class project using reverse stamps. I used Hero Arts "Starry Nights" (CG224) for this background and CL357 for the snowflakes. The vellum ornament is from JustRite's "Deck the Halls" (CL-02150) and I die cut it with Die-Namics "Christmas Ornaments".

I always shy away from using vellum - it scares me, but I really like how this turned out. One must adhere it carefully so that the adhesive doesn't show.

Thanks for checking in on my class progress - you just might all be invited to my graduation ceremony! Ha!

Have a good day and I'm sending warm wishes to all those caught in the nasty Nor'easter.
